Strata Cap: 2 in 1 Pre-Cleaner and Rain Cap
|
Donaldson introduces our new Strata Caps. The Strata Caps are high efficiency pre-cleaners designed for high and extreme dust conditions and are intended to be used in conjunction with an exhaust scavenge system.
These easy to install, low profile pre-cleaners use our strata tube system to remove up to 96% of the contamination from the incoming air in your induction system. The contamination is expelled through the 50mm scavenge outlet to the exhaust using an ejector.
As they draw air from the underside, they are very effective at preventing water from entering the intake system.
With three sizes in the range they cover an air flow range of between 350 to 1140 CFM. Constructed from rugged, UV stabilised plastic, they can be disassembled for maintenance and can be cleaned using either compressed air or water. |
The use of a Strata Cap will extend you filter life by removing the bulk of incoming dirt before it reaches your air cleaner.

Twist&Drain™ Installation and Drain Instructions
Most primary fuel filters have drains that allow the operator to remove the water that has been separated by the filter. Filter drain frequency is ultimately dependent on the quality of fuel that's being used. Most equipment OEMs recommend draining your water daily. Remember to pay attention to how much water is removed at each drain and adjust your frequency accordingly. |
|
Why Remove Water in Fuel?
Water in fuel will prematurely wear and oxidize steel components within fuel injectors, and lead to:
- Rusting and corrosion of components
- Governor/metering component failure
- Sticky metering components (both pump and nozzle)
- Injection component wear and seizure
Maintenance Recommendations & Guidelines
- Drain water from your primary filter daily when refueling
- Never switch to more "open" filters to get longer filter life (you are trading away fuel pump and injector life)
- Never use fuel to lube up the gasket. Fuel isn't as slick as oil and if you use fuel it could cause your gaskets to bunch or pinch when tightened causing the filter to leak

New Diesel Fuel Kit Packaging
Earlier this year Donaldson released this fuel filter kit, which contains a mounting head, fittings, two fuel filters (one spare) and Donaldson’s new Twist&Drain™ bowl. These kits have been well received by the marketplace and so we have refreshed the packaging of the kits to have a more retail look and feel.
The contents of the kit are now packaged into a handy die-cut carton designed to hold each part in place as shown below. |
|
|
The full colour, outer packaging sleeve clearly explains the features and benefits of the kit and can easily be used as a counter display to attract customers.
The part number and pricing of the kit both remain unchanged - P902976 List Price: AUD $99.00 each.
The new packaging will be available from mid to late January 2012. |
