What a difference a decade makes. Donaldson marks the 10th anniversary of PowerCore filtration technology and the sale of its 10 millionth PowerCore filter.
PowerCore's media technology revolutionized air filtration for the heavy-duty off-road and on-road equipment markets, and today continues to deliver industry-leading performance to OEM and aftermarket users in Australia and throughout the world.
Introduced as an alternative to conventional, larger-sized filters, PowerCore's straight-through airflow design and high-density filtration system reduces restriction, extends filter life and reduces overall maintenance costs. The compact, metal-free, cartridge-style design traps contaminants inside its structure for cleaner and easier servicing.
PowerCore's compact design (40 to 50 percent smaller than other brands) helps Donaldson customers deal with the space restrictions often experienced in today’s crowded engine bays and surrounds. Traditional cylindrical filters just cant match the efficiency to footprint ratio offered by PowerCore.
Additionally, PowerCore's distinctive appearance, variety of shapes and different mounting options differentiate it from conventional filters. OEM and aftermarket users can now choose from an array of configurations to meet their design specifications.
Complementary to this innovative design is the incorporation of Ultra-Web nanofiber filter media. Manufactured using a proprietary electrospinning process, Ultra-Web allows submicron contaminants such as dust and soot to load on the surface rather than disperse throughout the internal layers of the filter media, where pores can quickly clog. Extensive lab testing has shown that Ultra-Web enhances the efficiency of high-quality filter media to nearly 100 percent, while extending filter service intervals.
No other product on today’s market offers the outstanding performance and minimal footprint that PowerCore delivers.

Bulk fuel filtration solutions
Donaldson offers a complete solution to contamination control with its bulk fuel filtration systems.
90% of all diesel related issues are caused by contaminated fuel sources. The outcomes of this contamination can be; injector damage, clogged fuel filters, poor engine performance through decreased combustion efficiency and even complete engine failure. While inconvenient, the true cost of these incidents, such as injector failure, can easily exceed $50,000, on some of today’s current platforms, depending on the level of exposure to contaminated fuels.
All engines require onboard fuel filtration, but there is only so much the onboard system can do. Even though most vehicles are fitted with both primary and secondary fuel filters, onboard diesel filtration is single pass; this means the filter only gets one chance to catch contaminant as it passes through on its way to the engine. Removal of dirt and water from bulk storage vessels and tankers will help prevent the fuel related problems that result from contamination.
Diesel fuel can be dispensed at a cleanliness level of 22/21/18, an ISO level that is, by today’s requirements, far from clean. Further contaminants constantly find their way into bulk storage tanks and come from numerous sources. New fuel deliveries, insufficient breather filters, condensation and the use of corroding infrastructure (old tanks or pipe work) are just some of the sources of contamination in bulk fuel storage facilities.
Donaldson has developed a cost effective, efficient solution in the form of our Bulk Diesel Fuel Filtration range. Donaldson offers 2 way, 4 way and 5 way filtration manifolds, pre-equipped with dual filter heads to accommodate our innovative Blue Can range of spin on filters. The system is capable of achieving a cleanliness level of ISO 14/13/11. The modular design of the manifolds allows for numerous combinations to be plumbed together to handle high flow rates, both in and out of the tanks. Also available, as part of our complete solution, are the revolutionary T.R.A.P breathers. These react faster than traditional desiccant breathers offering moisture removal as low as 15% relative humidity.
With the enormous cost of replacement parts such as common rail injectors and the increased sensitivity of components due to stringent emissions controls, it makes sense to ensure your fuel supplies are adequately filtered and Donaldson brings to the market a complete filtration solution to address this issue.

All new ssg air cleaner assemblies
for heavy machinery
Donaldson Australasia Pty Ltd introduces the latest range of air cleaner assemblies to suit heavy equipment operating in the most severe dust conditions. The all-new SSG heavy-duty air cleaners are designed for the biggest machines in the toughest conditions and provide numerous key benefits and updates over the previous SRG range.
Where SRG units utilized steel end capped, axial sealing filters (retained by wing nuts), the SSG is fitted with Radial Seal, urethane end-capped air filters that provide a more reliable seal. Radial Seal allows the elements to slip easily on and off the outlet tube and combined with the quick release cover latches, the SSG is by far the simplest and easiest option for filter service and installation.
SSG air cleaners also utilize Donaclone® cyclonic precleaner tubes for maximum efficiency. Donaclone® precleaner tubes remove 95-97% of heavier dust particles from the inlet air volume leaving the main air filter elements free of heavy particles allowing for maximum filtration and maximum service life.
The SSG housing is made of high quality, heavy gauge steel and is supplied in a rust protective primed finish, ready for final paint application to suit your needs.
SSG air cleaners are available with either standard filters or optional Endurance filters which use Donaldson’s patented Ultra-Web® filtration technology for dramatically increased filter service, high efficiency and reduced associated costs.
SSG air cleaners are also designed for the easy fitment of optional Dust-Dumpa vacuator extensions. These revolutionary attachments use the vibrations of normal vehicle/equipment operation and gravity to expel the dust particles seperated by the Donaclone® cyclonic precleaner tubes. The vibratory action improves dust evacuation from the air cleaner base ensuring total efficiency and functionality. The clear tube body of the Dust-Dumpa allows for easy visual inspection of dust collection, effectively reducing inspection times and combined with the other innovative features of the SSG air cleaner assembly, the complete package offers an effective method of labour and cost reduction.
SRG to SSG conversion kits are now also available as an Upper body, assembly conversion. The heavy-duty assembly is the same overall package size as the older SRG housings, guaranteeing retro-fitment. The SSG conversion brings all the benefits of the new design; no more individual gaskets bolt in elements. Just quality, innovative, easily serviceable filtration technology.
